Fellow New Yorkers, I am Abbey Laurel-Smith, I am running for Mayor city of New York, because I see a disconnection between the Mayor, the Public Advocate, the City Hall and the reality of a harsh existence that has been forced upon New Yorkers by these group of elected officials.

If it is not rampant crime, or abject poverty due to a rising cost of living – that has gone out of hand, then it is tax disguised as fines and fees, levied against anyone who dares go to work in a congested Manhattan.
Like in the 70’s, the city as of today, is not safe. It is not secure, and neither is it sustainable.
As Mayor, I promise to rebuild New York City by making it a congestion free zone. Your rent, your rates will be slashed by 30%. Arbitrary tax disguised as fines and fees will be done with. The possibility of retirement insecurity faced by most seniors will be addressed, fixed and taken care of.
New revenue trail for the city would be generated through cloud finance and blockchain – so small businesses like momma and papa dollar stores could trade better than now. No cash, no crime.

The criminal justice system, the Police, the Courts will be reviewed, reformed, repurposed and refocused. No one old enough to draw pension retires to die in jail.
As for homelessness and lack of affordable housing, I will ease up on zoning rules, get more people into updated living spaces by levying bedroom taxes on absentee landlords and asset holding speculators – if they choose not to rent or convert asset to living spaces.
To bring down cost of living, I will spread development away from Manhattan, introduce the concept of agritecture to the city – so the city could produce 30% of its own food.

Universal healthcare for all is a must. It is imperative to redraft our payroll to reflect this, so, retirees, teachers, police, fire fighters and city workers alike do not have to worry about loosing their 401k.
I will put New Yorkers first. I’d rather be seen waging war on poverty than be seen making life miserable for poor New Yorkers and their struggling families.
Join me to rebuild New York city. Let’s build a city where retirees are not taxed on retired incomes.
